I am currently a jewelry designer aspiring to educate youth through my passion for jewelry. One day I hope that making metalsmithing will no longer be a luxury, but a hobby, profession, and/or a passion for many. In 5-10 years, I hope to have a program started to allow youth who typically would not have access to metalsmithing facilities the ability to let their creative side flourish. I hope to incorporate information that students learn in their fundamental classes, such as mathematics and science, into a metalsmithing course. The metal work that students will create in this program will be geared to enhance the information that they are learning in the classroom.
My name is Thierry Jones. I am 22 years old and I have been making jewelry in a metalsmithing studio for 10 years now. I have been in love with jewelry since the day a piece of string and beads were placed in front of me. I have taken art classes since the age of 5 at local 4 year colleges with extracurricular programs for youth, such as Moore College and University of the Arts. I am a food fanatic and lover of flamingos. I am a Jewelry Design and Packaging Science major combining my loves to create a complete experience for my costumers. I hope to design custom packaging soon, so stay tuned!
